This is a great role for an Area Sales Manager/ Business Development Manager who will be driven by the challenge of growing a developing business area, working directly with wholesalers in the Construction space. You will be working with, quite simply, the best products available in the market with strong green credentials – a product that will make a big impact on the health and wellbeing for those who have them installed in their home.
This business is the market leader within Housing and now firmly have their eyes on the Construction industry with ambitions to become the number 1 in this space too. This Area Sales Manager will be focussed on growing the existing customer base within the Distribution business. This is a high potential market for the group, with an already impressive customer list!
As the Area Sales Manager you will be working with specialist electrical wholesalers with a rapid sales cycle with the ability to turn around sales quickly, as well as working on larger projects of work! Around 60-70% of business with be coming in from existing accounts, with the rest focussed on new business and reinvigorating dormant accounts and don’t worry, with a 30-year history and a well-respected brand the database is ready and waiting to be attacked. You will be selling the premium product in the market so a degree of educating the customers around the quality, top tier environmental credentials (including a state of the art, carbon neutral HQ) and health benefits for the end user, is going to be a key part of the role.
The ideal person for the Area Sales Manager will:
- Be proactive in building the sales pipeline in the North East.
- Be a “glass half full” type of person, with an in it together, make it happen mentality.
- Have a proven ability to develop new business, as well as growing existing accounts.
- Understand the sales approach when selling a premium product.
- Be comfortable demonstrating a technical product face to face (full, detailed training provided)
- Ideally have some experience working with specialist electrical wholesalers (this is a firm “nice to have”)
- Have a full, clean UK driving licence.

The package:
- £35,000 + bonus (OTE £50,000)

- 22 days holiday + bank (increases to 24 after 1 year + 1 extra day per year, can buy/ sell up to 4 holiday days per year)
