Job Description:

Core - Asset are working on an exciting new role for an Assistant Accountant to join a leading firm based in Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA or ACCA or a part qualified accountant looking to develop their career.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• A CIMA or ACCA part-qualification is essential, with a view to actively studying towards a full qualification.


• Experience in a busy finance or accounting position is required.


• Strong accuracy and attention to detail


• Ability to work under pressure


• Sage 200 is desirable

Core Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the production of management accounts


• Preparing and maintaining reconciliations of accounts in the business Balance Sheets


• Preparation of financial accounts for audit


• To assist with production of annual budgets and interim forecasts


• Assist with the preparation of VAT returns


• To assist with the maintenance of controls through critical appraisal of existing policies and procedures
