Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively recruiting for a growing and established manufacturing business based in Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire to recruit a dynamic Assistant Accountant. A varied and hands-on permanent accounting role reporting directly to the Finance Manager, supporting in both the monthly and daily accounting processes. The business is experiencing a period of growth and expansion, so opportunity for future career development and progression is available for the right finance professional. You will be working with an experienced Finance Manager who can support and train in elements of the position, open to AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA studiers or qualified by experience finance professionals.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts, accruals, prepayments and fixed asset register. You will support in cash flow forecasting and budgeting processes, month-end and year-end reporting, along with ad-hoc duties/projects for the Finance Manager. You will process purchase and sales invoices, bank payments and reconciliations, support credit control and monthly/weekly payroll processes. Due to the organisation growing, there is an opportunity for future career development where you can take on more.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Assistant Accountant role, you will need experience within a similar position, strong communication skills to build both internal and external relationships and be used to managing work-loads to meet deadlines. You will have key MS Excel skills, trained in a range of financial systems and be adaptable, along with willing to learn. Ideally, you will be studying AAT/CIMA/ACCA or qualified by experience, comfortable within a range of financial systems and be used to working within a team environment, but also using your own initiative. Experience within the manufacturing sector and sage packages would be advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This hands-on Assistant Accountant role offers a salary between £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire.
