London Sport is partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager, you will be required to provide crucial support in the day to day running of the finance function. This is a great opportunity for a driven individual looking to join an exciting and unique organisation that provides essential care to the local community.
The Finance team also has a Finance Officer, and the overall Finance team sits within the Finance, People and Governance Directorate.
In this Assistant Management Accountant role, you will:
- Assist with month-end, ensuring it is closed in a timely manner.
- Take responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations including prepayments and accruals.
- Provide P&L funds analysis on a monthly basis.
- Complete bank reconciliations.
- Take responsibility for the payment run.
- Input of invoices.
- Maintain the fixed assets register – including capitalisation of assets, disposals, and new projects.
- Take the lead in producing VAT returns and HMRC reconciliations.
- Assist with year-end audit such as preparation of audit schedules and answering queries.
- Set up and reviewing postings that impact multiple cost centres on a monthly basis.
- Meet internal stakeholder regularly and support in relation to accounting queries.
- Support with funder returns.
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and queries.

The Successful Candidate will:
- Hold an AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent, and ideally be studying towards an CCAB qualification.
- Ideally, have Charity finance experience and a working knowledge and understanding of fund accounting, or come from the wider public sector.
- Be familiar with the production of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
- Have a good understanding of accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, Agresso etc.
- Be positive, proactive and enjoy working as part of a team whilst maintaining excellent precision and attention to detail.
