Hays Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be partnering with Norwich's Research Park in their quest to find an Assistant Grant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the wider finance team regarding reporting on financial grants for various projects.
Your new role
In this Assistant Grant Accountant job, you will be responsible for setting up new budget codes for the grants using Great Plains financial system, reconciling grant applications to the finance / contract, as your core duties will be reporting on the day-to-day finance activity on projects where the grant has been awarded.
This will involve ensuring all costs are allocated to the relevant projects and the status of the capital allocated has been updated. You will also prepare cost statements, post journals and assist the Senior Finance Team with financial progress reports as well as answer audit queries. The role also involves working closely with project leaders about any questions on the grant applications and allocated spending.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you have experience of monitoring grants or funding from the higher education or charity sector (restricted & unrestricted funds) but this is not essential as the core skills required will cover accurate finance reporting, reconciling accounts and producing financial reports on projects.
We expect you to have experience of ledger processing, reconciling accounts and using Excel to analyse financial data.
