Assistant Accountant – UK and Ireland
Hours: 37.5hrs per week – Mon to Fri
Office based in Penrith, Cumbria. Hybrid working opportunity (2 days p/w).
You will join the UKI Finance team, helping to maintain and deliver accurate and timely financial information, in accordance with group internal controls and procedures.
Based at our UK Head Office in Penrith, you will join a friendly and dynamic team where you will be supported closely by the Financial Controller UK/I. This role is ideal for someone who is part qualified or actively pursuing an advanced Finance qualification. At Nilfisk, we are happy to mentor and support you in your professional development.

Essential Responsibilities of the Role
Support the PTP (purchase to pay), OTC (order to cash) and RTR (record to report) finance functions with our outsourced partner on a day-to-day basis.
Support the Financial Controller UK/I with month end financial reporting, preparing account reconciliations including intercompany, accruals, and prepayments.
Support the external credit control team.
Assist with the preparation of budget and forecasts.
Regular review of accounts payable and receivables ledgers.
Arrange supplier invoices to be processed for accurate and timely approval and payment.
Reconciliation of bank accounts and local credit cards.
Assist the customer care team by taking incoming card payments.
VAT reporting for UK and Ireland
Intrastat reporting
Carry out any other reasonable duties as and when required, subject to training and capabilities.

What you will need
This position is for you if you have a keen interest in financial accounting and reporting and are seeking an opportunity within an established global company where you can be part of a dynamic multi-national environment.
Furthermore, you have a positive can-do attitude with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with others. It would be beneficial if you have experience of this in a similar role.
