The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. It seeks to be accessible and engaging, to develop audiences across the UK and to break new ground in the presentation of lyric theatre.
What do we do?
Our Costume Performance team provides costume support to the artists of The Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera and visiting companies. We are seeking to recruit 2 x Assistant Costume Performance Managers (one with an Opera bias and one with a Ballet bias) to join our Costume Performance Team. The roles will work with each Company respectively to plan for the smooth running of productions from a costume perspective.
Our Assistant Costume Performance Managers will engage a team of casual Dressers to work on each assigned production. In this role you will liaise with multiple departments to plan and facilitate all costume requirements for stage rehearsals and performances. You will lead and guide a team of Technicians through: receiving costumes for new and revival productions from the Costume Production Managers, producing running, dressing and laundry plots, perfecting quick changes with teams of casual dressers, scheduling turnarounds between stage rehearsals and performances, complex repairs, fittings, and alterations, allowing technicians to learn and thrive under your leadership, so they can replicate and share your high standards.
As the Royal Opera House is a rep house, you will often be juggling two or more productions at a time.
This is an exciting time to join the team following a senior internal promotion and with a busy season ahead, providing a great opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the art forms.
