Assistant Designer

Job Title: Assistant Designer (Entry Level) – Formal Menswear

Position Overview: As an Assistant Designer specialising in formalwear, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the designer in the development and execution of our collections. Working closely with the menswear designer, you will have the opportunity to contribute your fresh perspective and creative insights while gaining valuable hands-on experience in the fashion industry.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the designer to conceptualize and develop new collections, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and market trends.
• Assist in researching and gathering inspiration for design concepts, including fabrications, trims, and garment construction techniques.
• Create detailed technical sketches and CAD drawings to communicate design ideas effectively.
• Support in the creation of tech packs and specification sheets for sample development and production.
• Maintain organised design archives, including fabric swatches, sketches, and sample records.
• Stay updated on industry trends, attending fashion shows, trade fairs, and exhibitions as necessary.
• Create spec sheets of garments

Qualifications:

• A recent Bachelor’s graduate in Fashion Design or related field.
• Strong passion for menswear fashion and a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Excellent sketching and technical drawing skills.
• Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrications, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary: From £24,000.00 per year
