Reporting to the Director of Mental Health, Learning Disability, Psychological Therapies and Healthcare in Prisons Services, and as a member of the Directorate’s Collective Leadership Team, the post holder will be responsible and accountable for the strategic, operational, performance and business management of services within the post-holder’s scope of responsibility. The Assistant Director will ensure patient safety and excellent service quality across the services, implementing and embedding the HSC values and collective leadership behaviours. The post-holder will also provide significant input in developing and shaping the Directorate’s priorities and action plans associated with the achievement of objectives. In doing so, he/she will collaborate closely with people with lived experience, Assistant Director Colleagues and senior clinicians/lead professionals to implement objectives, ensuring effective multidisciplinary decision-making and service delivery.The Assistant Director will provide strong operational leadership to all aspects of Acute Mental Health Services, driving and improving effective management and support for operational staff and developing a positive working environment and open culture that fosters high morale and commitment amongst all staff, promoting their wellbeing, professional and personal development. The post-holder will ensure that Acute Mental Health Services are developed in conjunction with people with lived experience and in line with population needs, service demand and agreed regional priorities and will be accountable for the delivery of clinical care across all Acute Mental Health Services, taking responsibility along with the Service’s Clinical Director for effective clinical governance arrangements. The Assistant Director will fully support the Director in the strategic planning and delivery of these services, facilitating coproduction, multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working to establish effective pathways and achieving the most efficient use of resources. Hold a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject, with evidence of post registration/ post graduate studyWorked for at least 3 years in a senior management role in a major complex organisation , Experience of working in Mental Health Services.
