Working within the Finance team and reporting to the Deputy Head of Finance (Controls), the Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Head of Finance to ensure that the Museum’s financial accounting is timely, accurate and reflects a controlled financial environment. Key duties include preparing regulatory and statutory returns and reports, as well as annual financial statements and quarterly investment reporting. The postholder will act as a key point of contact for external audits and HMRC, ensuring their delivery is on time and to the required standard
The successful candidate will be a part qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with extensive financial accounting experience, as well as experience of dealing with external auditors and making VAT submissions. Excellent analytical skills and strong, proven problem-solving skills are required, with a superb attention to detail. The postholder will also have strong IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft 365 packages and the ability to best utilise IT systems for financial audit and control needs.
This is a full time, permanent role in Band 5 - Middle Management and Professional Specialists. Core hours of work will be 36 per week, working 5 days between the hours of 9am-5pm, although due to the nature of the work, some flexibility may be required. Flexible/hybrid working options are available and encouraged. This role will be subject to a credit check.
Salary: £45,000 per annum
