We’re hiring for an Assistant Financial Controller to join our Global teams in London.
Purpose of the Role
As Assistant Financial Controller you’ll assist in the management of financial control processes, driving an appropriate control and compliance environment, and overseeing the production of financial management and statutory information. Supporting regular reviews to identify and resolve gaps in the design or effectiveness of controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with dentsu financial policies and controls, including dentsu’s internal control framework, ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting
- Support the Financial Controller in leading monthly balance sheet related processes, including the review and approval of balance sheet reconciliations, review and approval of month end journals, and coordination of the team’s Bangalore-based Operational Finance teams
- Support the FDs and Finance Business Partners to deliver accurate reporting and analysis for budget, quarterly forecasts and year end financials
- Assist in the monitoring of billing and collection activities, including credit insurance coverage, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate
- Support the financial administration of people-related and treasury-related activities including management of payroll with HR, maintenance of master data, processes and finance systems, hedging, payments and intercompany loans
- Management of other specialist finance activities including audit, taxation, VAT, insurance and risk management
- Review of T&E spend, corporate card applications, intercompany agreements, purchase orders and supplier contracts (when delegation of authority requires controllership involvement)
Qualifications + Skills
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, CA etc) with 1+ years PQE
- Experience within a controls environment, working with an internal controls framework
- Financial control experience in a large multinational or external audit background
- Familiarity with financial systems and financial reporting with excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Organised, methodical and thorough approach to work
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Strong inter-personal skills and influencing skills
What we offer
This is a permanent role. The team is based in our London office but operates under flexible working arrangements. The team are typically in the London office 2-3 times per week.
