We are delighted to be supporting a global manufacturing organisation in recruiting an Assistant Management Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to work closely alongside a Senior Management Accountant and be trained in all aspects of accounts preparation. The Assistant Management Accountant will also be able to get involved in projects, reporting and analysis over time. The Role
The Assistant Management Accountant's duties will include:
- Preparation of the monthly close
- Completing the month end routine to ensure monthly financial reporting is accurate, and complete with comments on areas of note. This will include: stock valuation, various reconciliations, accruals
- Distribution of departmental reports detailing financial spend v budgets
- Responsibility for all product standard costs sold
- Model building to determine future profitability levels
- Production variance reporting, determining reasons behind variances
- Regular analysis of product variances versus standards
- Assisting with budgets and forecasts
- Provide information to the external auditors in a timely and accurate manner
- Ad-hoc project work
The Person
The requirements for the Assistant Management Accountant role are:
- Experience of working within a finance function - preferably in a similar role but those looking to take a step up will be considered
- Ideally part qualified CIMA. Those that are AAT qualified and planning to study CIMA will be considered
- Must have a can-do attitude and willing to get involved in all aspects of the business
- Keen and eager to progress as the role evolves
- Strong Excel skills are essential
