Job description
The Kent and Medway All Age Eating Disorder Servicer are are looking to recruit a band 4 Assistant Psychologist.
The post holders will support people and enhance the professional psychological care within the service, across all sectors of care, providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions of a routine nature, under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist drawing on their supervisor’s expertise. To work according to a plan agreed with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures. To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
The post holder will support their peers and team manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies.
There are two bases within Kent in Maidstone and Canterbury. However travel is required across sites.
The post holder will contribute to the clinical work in the AAEDS. They can offer in-depth Psychological assessments for complex cases, provide basic therapeutic input and assist in group work. They can also facilitate outcome monitoring and evaluation
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a six months probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period ).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
