Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Working within Keltbray’s Energy Transmission & Distribution Business, and forming a part of the Commercial team, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project, delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.

Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and ultimately Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to: – Management of application and credit control processes – Management of optimisation of income.

• Input into the application and credit control processes
• Understanding of income forecast and pricing of variations
• Understanding of the change control system
• Understanding of project risk & CTC
• Understanding of the production of CVRs
• Understanding the production of forecasting data & costing process
• Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
• Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
• Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements.
• Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.
• Attend project progress meetings.
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports.
• Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the Quantity Surveyor within the business.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor is expected to:

• Contribute to prompt payment of sub-contracts and maintenance of sub-contract liabilities
• Complete and well organised records
• Contribute to the timely production of Cost and value reconciliations.
• Maintain a professional development log and commit to continuous improvement
