Assistant Service Coordinator
39 hours per week
Salary: £27,503 (unqualified) to £28,199 (qualified) per annum
Sleepover payment: £87.20 per sleepover
Location: Kennoway Service
About the Role
In this role, you will be an integral member of the support team contributing to and ensuring the high quality of care and support for individuals within the Kennoway Service.
In this role, you will become part of the support team ensuring a high quality of care and support is delivered to individuals within the Kennoway Service, which offers support to individuals not only in Kennoway but also within areas of Glenrothes.
Within this Service specifically we provide high quality support and guidance to individuals, who require assistance in personal care right through to assisting with daily household tasks within their own homes. The type of support we provide is from 24/7 care to a few hours per day/week.
Some individuals have complex care needs including epilepsy management, gastrostomy feeding, medication administration and manual handling requirements.
The service and support we provide is built around the individual, taking on board their needs, choices and aspirations. No day is ever the same, but every day is rewarding to see how much joy these individuals get from the support they receive.
As an Assistant Service Coordinator you will undertake regular review meetings, support the staff team and support the performance management process for yourself and support workers, liaising with families and other professionals. Furthermore you will work closely with the Coordinators and Support Workers to ensure the service users needs are constantly being provided for by developing and implementing support plans and ensure outcomes are set and people are supported to achieve these.
About You
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who has the desire to support people to have the best life possible along with the drive to promote their independence. Those with high empathy, supportive nature and a positive attitude are key to success in what at times can be a challenging but rewarding role. Ideally you should have two years experience in a Support and Care setting and knowledge/experience of supporting people. Experience at supervisory level is a benefit but not essential however an understanding of the qualities and skills required is pivotal.
If you hold an SVQ 2 qualification in Care or a related field in line with the SSSC registration criteria this could be the opportunity for you. Further learning to gain an SVQ 3 would be required within a 2 year timeframe.
Within the role of an Assistant Service Coordinator you are allocated office time out with your support work to assist in the running of the service.

Requirements
- A current driving licence, business insurance and the use of a car for work purposes are essential.
- It is essential you are able to work shifts which will include weekend working, evenings, and sleepovers.
- This post is subject to a PVG Disclosure check, paid by KSC
- The successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC and complete SVQ 3 within 2 years of starting employment and a Professional Development Award (PDA) in supervision. Please note: you must hold an SVQ 3 in Care or a related field to meet the qualified point on the salary scale.
