We need an Assistant Tax Accountant to join our Finance and Business Management team at A tomic W eapons E stablishment ( AWE ).
This is an exciting time to join us as we begin working towards updating the weapons on all of the submarines in the UK CasD programme. We require amazing people to support the programme, this could be you.
We are located in the countryside at RG7 4PR between Reading and Basingstoke with onsite parking.
Salary range: Starts at £33,000 Negotiable (depending on experience)
A typical day as an Assistant Tax Accountant could look like this:
- Monthly business rhythm, including Balance sheet reconciliations, tax payments and submissions across all taxes.
- Ensuring compliance to internal controls and external deadlines
- IR35 panel discussions and determinations
- Supporting AWE’s global mobility programme
- Supporting the annual R&D tax credit and corporate tax exercise
We would like you to have experience of or have the following skills:
- Qualified AAT or ATT as a minimum, Working towards a relevant professional membership, or qualification through experience.
- Working knowledge required of UK income tax, corporate tax and indirect tax.
- Strong organisational skills to manage processes and workload to high level of accuracy within tight timeframes.
- Experience of operating within an internal control framework is not essential, but would be desirable.
- Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought out conclusions.
- Experience of developing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Interested in process improvement.
- Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills.
- Strong excel skills.
