Are you an adaptable, energetic, and creative Assistant Team Manager or aspiring Assistant Team Manager of a children's home? Oakdene Children’s Home provides residential care to children and young people with disabilities from Wandsworth and surrounding boroughs. This role will provide you with the opportunity to change the lives of those in your care, supporting children aged between 5-18 and help play a central role in ensuring high quality care is provided. Can you provide the right environment for these young people to flourish, whilst supporting staff and ensuring we continue to be well recognised by those who use the service and Ofsted?

About The Role:

Leadership and Management: You will assist the Registered Manager in fulfilling the established quality assurance standards and targets and to meet the needs of all children / young people, including supervision of staff and ensuring the smooth running of the service.

Regulatory Compliance: You need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of children's homes regulations and national minimum standards, ensuring strict adherence to maintain a safe and nurturing environment.

Experience: Do you have proven experience in working with vulnerable young people in a senior or managerial role, showcasing a commitment to their well-being and development?

Operations:  You will help the Registered Manager with managing the budget, care of the building, catering and administration duties and to share the responsibility for attendance for reviews, network meetings and case conferences.

Professional Development: Embracing opportunities for personal and professional growth in an ever-changing environment, you will be willing to undertake relevant management training in the role.

Qualifications and Skills:

• You have a recognised qualification such as a Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Ability to make confident, calm, independent decisions.
• Confidence to work independently under pressure in an environment which is subject to rapid change. 
• Ability to maintain clear personal and professional boundaries while managing and demonstrating good practice.
• Organised with the confidence to prioritise your own workload, meet deadlines and supporting staff under your supervision to do the same.
• Commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of services provided.
