Associate Director, Business Process Transformation

About this job:
As the Associate Director of Business Process Transformation within the CMfgO Office at Astellas, you will play a pivotal role in driving organizational efficiency and effectiveness through the identification and execution of Business Process Transformation initiatives. By closely collaborating with key stakeholders across various Technology and Manufacturing (T&M) functions and Digital & Analytics Technology (DAT), you will lead efforts to assess current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational performance.
In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to leverage your strategic mindset and analytical skills to develop and execute transformative strategies that align with the company's overall objectives. You will catalyze change, championing new ways of working and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. Additionally, you will be instrumental in securing necessary resources, managing project portfolios, and providing guidance and support to project leads to ensure the successful implementation of transformational initiatives.

In this role, you will:
- Lead Identify Business Process Transformation (BPT) opportunities by assessing existing processes and introducing innovative approaches, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Obtain buy-in from key stakeholders before initiating each project, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Coordinate the inclusion of identified ideas into the annual/mid-term plan for T&M functions.
- Support project leads in formulating and elaborating project plans, including developing compelling business cases for necessary approvals.
- Lead cross-functional BPT projects to ensure successful implementation and integration across the organization.
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven progressive experience in large-scale IT system introduction, upgrade or replacement.
- Track record of successful Business Process optimization or transformation in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to develop project plans, evaluate business cases,
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships, and collaborate globally.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience:
- Fluency in Japanese appreciated.
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in Business Process optimization and transformation.
- Experience working with advanced technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) to drive process efficiencies.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards relevant to the pharmaceutical industry, such as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
Education:
- PhD/MsD or equivalent degree
Additional information:
- This is a permanent, full-time position.
- This position follows our hybrid model. Role requires a blend of home and a minimum of 1 day per quarter in our Addlestone office. Flexibility may be required in line with business needs. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance of the office.
