About this job:
As part of our continued success and growth of Astellas Global Statistics and Real World Data Science Function, we are presently building teams in the UK and looking to hire an Associate Director of Statistics.
As an Associate Director of our SRS division your role will incorporate both senior management and operational responsibilities and you and your team will be responsible for designing Astellas’ development programs that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Using state-of-the-art methodology and the most innovative approach, SRS generates compelling evidence using clinical trials or real-world data (RWD) to ensure successful and timely regulatory approval, pricing, reimbursement, and patient access.

Key Activities for this role:
- Working as part of cross-functional, global teams
- Acting independently as a Study Statistician / Medical Affairs Statistician / Exploratory Statistician / Regional Statistician Lead or Lead Product Statistician.
- Undertaking and overseeing complex/novel work in an established area such as clinical/ observational studies, MA tactic or Biomarker & PK/PD Analyses.
- Acting as a Global Statistical Lead for an early or back up asset or as a Methodology expert validating the execution of complex techniques.
- Researching innovative solutions and training other statisticians
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Significant experience of applying statistical methods in biomedical research, Pharma, CRO, Academia or the Healthcare industry, gained on a global basis.
- Advanced and broad knowledge of statistical methods, along with an understanding of industry practices related to the statistical analysis of clinical and biomarker data
- Knowledge and skills in SAS
- In-depth familiarity with processes and procedures in data management and programming
- Good knowledge of medical literature, clinical, regulatory and commercial landscape
- The ability to understand, implement, and explain complex statistical methodology,
Educations/Qualifications:
- PhD or M.S in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related scientific field

- The is a permanent full-time position based in the UK.
- We offer a hybrid working pattern, requiring one day per quarter in the office (Addlestone), blended with a collaborative video environment that supports working from home.
