We are seeking a Bid Writer with a flair for creative writing and a talent for producing compelling proposals, particularly for social housing, local authority, and commercial clients. If you have a knack for translating technical information into clear, persuasive content and are driven by customer excellence, this role is for you.
Day to Day of the role:
- Coordinate with internal teams to develop and write bespoke, high-quality PQQ and ITT submissions.
- Write clear, focused, and logical proposal material, maintaining consistency of style, brand, and tone.
- Translate technical information into written proposals for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Communicate key benefits through compelling proposals and presentations.
- Produce case studies and gather evidence to support submissions.
- Review responses against scoring matrices and criteria.
- Maintain the bid pipeline and reporting process.
- Support the business development team with marketing literature and proposal submissions.
- Promote customer excellence throughout the bid process.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree level education or equivalent experience.
- Construction and/or bid background is desirable.
- APMP membership is a plus.
- Strong creative writing skills.
- Experience with electronic tender platforms.
- Advanced MS Word skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of InDesign and Illustrator.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Good business acumen and understanding of the bid process.
- Experience in proposals, bids, and tender writing within a fast-paced environment.
- Desktop publishing skills.
- Knowledge of the energy/environmental and/or construction sectors.
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a clear focus on customer satisfaction.
- Good planning skills and able to self-assess performance.
- Reliable, tolerant, and empathetic team player.
- Well-presented, businesslike, and pays attention to detail.
- Ability to challenge, be assertive, and articulate.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable, analytical, and logical.
