You will have a strong biochemistry background and have or looking to develop managerial and professional responsibilities in a progressive and forward-thinking department, working with a friendly and collaborative team within blood sciences. You will also have experience of managed service contracts and change management, to provide operational leadership for the department going forwards. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing quality improvement and innovation initiatives for the automated laboratories.
The successful candidate will assume operational responsibility for our UKAS accredited Biochemistry laboratories, located in Winchester at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) and at the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) and will be responsible for Biochemistry Quality Management as well as Specimen Reception. The Successful candidate will be required to participate in the 24/7 out of hours Operational manager on-call rota and travel between Trust sites as required. You will be required to maintain your biochemistry competencies to provide shift cover in an emergency.
