Job Overview: We are currently seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, aligning with legacy systems, and working closely with the directors to ensure the smooth financial operations of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

1. Bookkeeping:

   • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, receipts, and payments.
   • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial data.

2. Accounting:

   • Prepare financial statements and reports for review by directors.
   • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.

3. Adaptability:

   • Align with legacy systems and adapt to the directors' methods.
   • Flexibility to work within a dynamic and evolving environment.

4. Organisational Skills:

   • Maintain a high level of organisation in financial records.
   • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.

5. Communication:

   • Work closely with directors to understand financial needs and provide relevant financial information.
   • Clearly communicate financial updates and reports.

Requirements:

1. Experience:

   • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant.
   • Previous work with Xero is essential.

2. Driving Requirement:

   • This role is only suitable for candidates with a valid driving license due to remote location.

3. Adaptability and Flexibility:

   • Ability to adapt to legacy systems and the directors' unique methods.
   • Flexibility to handle diverse financial tasks.

4. Organisational Skills:

   • High level of organization and attention to detail.
   • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Working Conditions:

• On-site position in Falmer.
• Part-time role (2 days per week).
