We are looking for a BOOKKEEPER to join our growing Groundscare, Forestry and Agricultural Machinery Dealership, based south of Birmingham.
We are looking for someone highly organised with a positive attitude and methodical approach to support the business by managing all day-to-day financial tasks. This pivotal role entails managing both accounts payable and receivable, as well as bank account administration, while diligently pursuing outstanding payments via both phone and email. You will also be responsible for maintaining controlled customer credit and ensuring timely payment adherence to agreed-upon terms.

- Salary: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Starting at £25,000 minimum.
- Hours: Flexible and open for negotiation if required. Full time is preferred. Our normal working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include:
- Process and record purchase invoices.
- Reconcile supplier statements and manage expense claims.
- Manage petty cash transactions and investigate discrepancies.
- Allocate and reconcile cash receipts.
- Monitor, reconcile, and chase overdue customer payments.
- Implement credit control policies and assess creditworthiness.
- Reconcile customer queries and arrange payment plans.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions.
- General bookkeeping tasks.
- Maintain schedules for stocking plans, lease/hire purchase and other finance agreements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and update the general ledger.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and collaborate with other departments.
- Ensure timely submissions to HMRC and stay updated on VAT regulations.
- Prompt, friendly, and professional response to incoming calls.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
Qualifications:
- A qualification in AAT, Finance, or a relevant field at level 3 or above is preferred.
Experience:
- Preferably 1 year of experience in Credit Control/Bookkeeping.
Desired Skills:
- Strong technical skills, particularly in MS Excel.
- Familiarity or experience with accounting software is advantageous.
- Training will be provided for our CRM system.
