Job description

Our client is an independent established electrical contractor based in Wokingham, Berkshire. They have operated in the the Thames Valley for 20 years, working in the commercial, industrial, public sector, retail & leisure and luxury housing industries.

They are currently seeking an experienced individual to undertake a multi-disciplined role in their Wokingham office. This involves working with company accounts, undertaking basic administration roles and assisting with HR within the organisation.

It will suit a professionally minded individual with a range of office skills in a similar industry, where every day brings different challenges. It is an enjoyable role in a friendly and supportive environment where everyone assists each other to help the businesss run smoothly in a busy and ever changing industry.


You will require the following skills

? Production and presentation of the monthly Management Accounts to the Directors

? Preparation of year end accounts to trial balance, working closely with external Accountants to complete year end smoothly and in a timely manner

? Yearly budget report, weekly cashflow forecasting, debtors and creditors reports

? HMRC, VAT, P11D and pension submissions and payment

? Weekly Bank and petty cash reconciliations

? Nominal account reconciliations

? Construction Industry Scheme "CIS", payments and submission

? Managing Hire Purchase "HP" for all assets and the monthly depreciation schedule

? Journals for Payroll, HP, Depreciation, Accruals and prepayments

? Full understanding of the Domestic Reverse Charge VAT

? Implementation of job costing using QuickBooks

? Raising monthly applications, reconciling retentions and work in progress "WIP"

? Raising of all sales invoices, self-bill invoices and credit control

? Reconciliation of the company stock and assets, including depreciation

? Paying weekly wages, monthly salaries, weekly expenses and monthly expenses

? Weekly/monthly accounts filing, scanning files to 365 cloud, shredding of documents(GDPR compliant)

? General administration work including reception and answering the telephones, checking general email inbox and assisting with site staff parking charges

? Keeping all employee files up to date monitoring monthly changes with our HR consultantsportal

? Keeping all employee records up to date which include;holidays, sickness, training and college

? Sending out all employees up to date changes in their contracts, all issued by our HR consultants, via portal

? Assisting in preparing new employee files and job descriptions

? Attending employee meetings

? Attending new employee interview meetings

? Preparing documentation if required for any employee disciplinaries

Essential Qualifications

? Qualified to ICB level for payroll

? Qualified to Pitman’s Level III or AAT in Book Keeping

? QuickBooksaccounts package experience essential

? Microsoft 365; Excel, Word,Outlook and Teams

Hours of Work & Benfits

• 8.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday (1 hour for lunch)

• 20 days holiday plus 3/4 days during Christmas and New Year (maximum of 24 days plus statutory Bank Holidays)

• Increase in holidays of up to a further 5 days (29 days plus Bank Holiday), in increments over 5 years of continued employment

• Pension 5% by employee and 5% by employer

• Profit related bonus at the discretion of the Directors

• Free parking
