Position: Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant / Accountant

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)

A family-run M&E contractor based in Eltham, London, is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper, Finance Assistant, or Accountant to manage their financial accounts and assist with general administrative duties. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, small office environment and is looking for a long-term role.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including processing invoices, maintaining ledgers, and preparing financial reports.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and manage expense control activities.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and provide accurate financial reporting.

Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Allocate approximately 30% of the role to general office administration, such as handling reception duties, answering calls, and managing office supplies.

Support management with administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

Demonstrable experience in finance roles, such as a Bookkeeper, Finance Assistant, or Accountant.

Strong grasp of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.

Proficient in MS Office and familiar with relevant financial software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks).

Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) are beneficial but not essential.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.
