Our client is a firm based in Harrow. They service a range of clients from various sectors. Offering accounts preparation, audit, company structure and tax advice. They are currently recruiting a Semi Senior Accountant due to a growth in business.
The Role
Extensive knowledge of Use of Xero, which includes:
- Setting up Xero from scratch and adding bank feeds
- Processing transactions on Xero
- Using Dext and Hubdoc
- Performing monthly reconciliations
- Preparing VAT Returns
- Reviewing Management Accounts
- Producing a finalised year-end Trial Balance to pass over for the annual Accounts to be compiled
- Advising Clients on how to use Xero, including issuing Sales Invoices.
Experience Required
- Reasonable experience of using Sage and Quickbooks for bookkeeping purposes
- Knowledge of non-standard VAT Returns including Flat Rate and the Margin Scheme
- Experience of processing VAT Registrations
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
- Practice experience is highly desirable so there is an existing skillset of managing a portfolio of Clients
- Experience of dealing with Outsourcers, via which a majority of the detailed bookkeeping work is carried out and processing any bookkeeping queries raised.
- Strong communication skills to be able to liaise direct with Clients, via phone, in person or on Zoom
- Capable of effective and professional communications with Clients (by phone/email/letter)
- Ability to review and control work in progress (chargeable time)
- Experience of managing deadlines
