Brand Marketing Manager
Direct reporting to the Managing Director
Our client is a small pharma business focused on the commercial development of one product. Competing in the consumer market against well-known established larger brands, our client is already an established brand and holds market presence via TV advertisements and other promotional activity. The product is a highly effective pain relief product supported in the market with a unique formulation and clinical data.
Due to a change in structure, a new position has been created for a Brand Marketing Manager to focus on building the market presence of this product. The product was launched in the UK in 2018 and is now available in ca. 7,500 pharmacies and over 8,000 supermarkets and similar outlets as well as at online sites such as Amazon. Turnover has risen in line with this substantial development of distribution and following a deal with ITV in 2023, growth has recently accelerated owing to higher media presence. The company also owns the IP for the product in a further 26 countries and aims to expand internationally through partnerships.
Role Overview:
The Brand Marketing Manageris responsible for Creating and delivering the brand strategy to achieve commercial targets.
Key areas of responsibility
- Work with the commercial team to prepare and actively manage Brand Plans
- Develop and lead the customer insight journey for the customer, generating and utilising market data as well as retail account insights together with market research.
- Evaluate and identify effective retailer category propositions, shelf locations & visibility in store as part of the commercial team
- Work with key stakeholders as required to plan/co-ordinate ATL activity
- Develop and manage the ATL activity including TV, print, radio as required including oversight of the creative and media agencies
- Develop and manage the digital marketing activities, including development of materials, monitoring of social media and oversight of the digital agency.
- Actively work with creative and digital agencies to develop new creative assets including TV commercials, digital advertising, and trade/retailer promotional materials
- Create brand assets linking ATL activity including National TV, Digital and other media with activation assets across all trade channels.
- Develop and monitor metrics for marketing activity across platforms (TV, digital, print etc) and regularly monitor competitor activity.
- Monitor competitor activity, both ATL and instore
- Respond to competitor or advertising challenges
- Ensure all creative assets and ATL activity are developed in line MHRA / PAGB requirements and manage the job bag approval process for all ATL assets.
- Review, identify and recommend product development opportunities, new product development and pack format developments to drive brand growth in relevant channels.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external partners.
We Are Looking For a Brand Manager With:
Proven experience of working in a brand management or marketing role in healthcare; including substantial experience in developing and delivering brand, marketing and go to market plans.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
Customer focussed, innovative, data lover, creative problem solver, thorough understanding of OTC medicines, ability to work remotely and collaboratively as part of a small team. Has the vision to be a pivotal part of one of the fastest growing analgesics in the UK.
Can work effectively as part of a small close-knit team.
Your Background - Required:
- Relevant University degree in related field
- Experience in the pharmaceutical consumer market
- Experience of more than 5 years in marketing and brand building
- Business level English. MS Office and other relevant IT skills
- Excellent communicationskills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience in TV brand building and marketing
- Experience in digital marketing

Additional Information:
25 days holiday
Hybrid approach to home working (attend the London office once per month)
There will be ad hoc meetings with agencies / external stakeholders requiring travel (London)
