What will the apprentice be doing?
The City of Lincoln Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within their Public Protection and Anti-social Behaviour (PPASB) team. The successful candidate will deal with all initial communications regarding anti-social behaviour and public protection.
Please note this role is subject to a basic DBS check.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Deal with all initial communications regarding anti-social behaviour and public protection, using the IT systems to record it
- Undertake, at point of initial contact a basic risk assessment, where relevant, to identify risks and/or vulnerabilities and to report this to the relevant case officer.
- Ensure that all contacts with the office are recorded on the appropriate IT system, in the correct way and identifying any current complaints, linking the issues.
- Ensure that contacts received are directed to the most appropriate officer as per the team’s policy for prioritisation.
- Provide general support service to the PPASB team including assistance with arrangements for meetings, preparation of minutes and agenda, provision of refreshments for visitors, typing, minute taking, and other general administrative duties.
- Maintenance of any central filing system, archive system and electronic storage of information. Maintain stationery and equipment stocks.
- Research information including searches of the internet, council databases and other sources to provide information for the teams
- Refer, where instructed, cases to relevant partner organisation or other council departments.
- To undertake general administrative duties at the direction of the manager.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful applicant will work towards the achievement of a Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be for 15 months.
This apprenticeship will provide a firm grounding of organisational operations and functional processes, as well as an understanding of the wider working environment.
You will receive on the job training to help you develop a wide range of skills such as problem-solving, decision making and people management responsibilities.
