Your role

The team

As a Business Analyst, you will be joining the Automatic Enrolment design team part of a broader change team who work on business design and analysis for the Automatic Enrolment Directorate. The overarching mission of the Automatic Enrolment Directorate is to ensure that UK employers are enrolling their staff in pension schemes in line with UK pensions law.

We are a busy team that works to ensure we deliver business operations as efficiently and effectively as possible. We meet with the wider business to understand changes we need to make to our processes and systems to support the directorate to regulate efficiently and effectively and ultimately ensure employees have access to pension schemes through their employers where they can save for their retirement.

What you’ll do

  • Learn through practical experience how the business change cycle works and associated transferable skills and use of tools such as process mapping and requirements elicitation.
  • Help ensure that our documentation of business processes and systems and data are accurate and up to date. Learning the use of tools through making updates to current, and potentially future, documentation.
  • Use a range of tools and techniques to understand business issues and potential changes. Working with the BAs and the business stakeholders to understand what the business needs and priorities are for IT and process change.
  • Support our analysts working on a range of changes from smaller continuous improvement to potentially larger more transformational change projects.

This placement would suit someone who may be studying courses in business-related subjects, STEM-related subjects, finance-related subjects or similar which involve analytical thinking, but we are open to all candidates with the right essential skills.

What you’ll bring

  • A student in penultimate year of study, or undertaking a degree requiring a year-long placement.
  • Strong communication skills with experience of tailoring style both verbally and in written format.
  • Works with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of and interest analytics.
  • Experience of working in a team to deliver a successful outcome.
