Your role: This role works across the direct client market and select independent agencies, and you will be responsible for developing the creative solutions, airtime and digital revenues across your patch. You will also be responsible for communicating our amazing media offering through the utilisation of all available media platforms.
Day to day you will:
● Manage a portfolio of independent agencies and their clients ensuring that the entire patch
is represented professionally to maximise revenue for the News Broadcasting Group.
● Generate new business across direct clients with no agency representation, bringing new
brands to air across our platforms
● Sell our national brands; talkSPORT, talkSPORT2, Times Radio, talkRADIO/talkTV and Virgin
Radio
● Sell across all revenue streams including airtime, digital and sponsorship & promotions.
● Work towards the overall group target for the year by formulating an effective sales strategy
accounting for News Broadcasting stations objectives, key properties and deal and pricing
parameters.
● Forecast accurate revenue from your patch and communicate this to the business.
● Manage business potential and ensure every possible lead is followed up through pro-active
initiatives.
● Travel across the south of the UK to meet with prospective and current direct clients
● Work with Activation and Editorial departments to improve the delivery of the business.
Work with the Finance department to ensure minimal bad debt / queries.
What we’re looking for from you:
● Sales experience within a media owner environment ideally across both display and creative
solutions.
● Knowledge of media, agency and client processes an advantage.
● You are determined, with a resilient mind set.
● You are personable, with a proven track record of building and nurturing relationships across
a wide spectrum of sales disciplines.
● Capable of generating new business leads, utilising insight tools to source new revenue
streams.
