Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will lead on the development and growth of Stepping Stones NI Services, that support people with a range of barriers to find employment, lead on employment academies and other support interventions.

Location: Based in Antrim Street Lisburn, after 6 months 60 / 40 Hybrid.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Duration: to 31st March 2025 (subject to funding thereafter)

Hours of work: 37 hours per week

About The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Employability and Partnerships, the Business Development Manager post is a pivotal role within the organisation with a key focus on attracting participants to our programmes as well as further developing our links with key stakeholders such as local councils, community groups and employers. The post requires an individual with proven and exceptional communication skills with the ability to take a lead role in the development of stakeholder relationships.

The role is multi-faceted and requires an individual, who is a people person, who has exceptional enthusiasm, interpersonal, team work skills and self-motivation. The post holder will have the capability to be a self-starter, able to use their own initiative, and enjoy working to KPIs and targets.

Required Criteria

• Do you have a Third Level Qualification in a relevant discipline or two years’ experience in a Business Development Role?
• Can you demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholders and building networks?
• Do you have experience of liaising with employers and building networks to generate opportunities for employment?
• Can you demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience of staff and programme coordination with meeting KPIs and project promotion?
• Do you have an understanding of the issues / barriers related to employment and disability, displaying evidence of the values and attitudes required to work with clients with a learning disability / difficulty?
• Can you demonstrate an ability to oversee data and process information using excel spreadsheets?
• Are you computer literate including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email packages?
• Can you communicate clearly and with confidence both orally and in writing, including reporting and presentations?
• Do you have the ability to work as part of a team, lead a team and be flexible?
• Are you self-motivated and a self-starter with the ability to use own initiative?
• Do you have access to a car and current driving licence?

Desired Criteria

• Do you have previous experience of working on different funding projects?
• Can you demonstrate ability to develop relationships with the business community in order to attract new clients and maintain existing ones?
• Do you have experience in working with people with learning disabilities and/or disabilities/difficulties?
• Do you have experience with working in the community, links with local community groups?
