Due to expansion we are actively seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing and dynamic sales team, sourcing opportunities within a global market.
As an established Business Development Manager, you will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal to confidently liaise with potential customers via outbound sales calls, working with a specific subset of our product portfolio to secure new business opportunities. Through proactive networking and establishing new leads you will source potential new customers, enabling revenue growth.
Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager are:
- Successfully securing new customers and maintaining relationships to enhance the growth of the business.
- Utilising your time effectively, ensuring that you spend a minimum of 30-40% of your day on calls.
- Research and understand a set product portfolio, ensuring the ability to advise customers on specific features and benefits suitable for their individual requirements; including providing sample equipment for customers to evaluate product quality.
- Understand competitor research to support the business strategy for product pricing, providing value to the business competitiveness.
- Maintenance of a customer database ensuring all key contacts are updated as required, ensuring potential business is thoroughly pipelined.
- Undertake additional research to support discussions with customers and to cultivate further business opportunities.
Experience, skills and attributes:
We are seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager who is confident working independently and able to hit the ground running.
- Minimum 5 years experience within Business Development, Sales or Account Management, ideally in tangible product sales.
- Ability to demonstrable telephone sales experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience of managing new business activity within a structured and professional environment.
- Keen to develop and enhance product knowledge through inhouse training and on own initiative to add value within the business environment.
- Strong professional verbal and written communication skills; supporting a systematic and structured approach to sales development.
- Strong rapport building and conversational skills, as well as a persuasive personality.
- Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to secure business revenue.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and experience using a CRM or similar customer database.
- Resilient to the sales call process
- The ability to work to set targets and timescales to achieve and maintain both sales and Business Development KPI’s.
