You will be joining an established and extremely well-funded renewable energy developer, primarily in the UK and other European areas, focusing on utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV and battery energy storage projects BESS, both co-located and standalone. The company is now looking to take on a Business Development Manager to develop a mix of greenfield, co-development, joint venture and M&A strategies.
The position
They are seeking to supplement the growth of its self-originated portfolio by acquiring project rights from third parties through a variety of co-development, JV and M&A strategies. They are now seeking a Business & Project Development Manager with relevant sector experience and expertise to join the team and drive the development and implementation of their acquisition strategies. There will also be some greenfield acquisitions involved.
The Development Manager will have the following responsibilities:
*Originate and develop best-in-class opportunities and implement strategies for project portfolio growth to financial close.
*Conduct market research and identify potential development partners.
*Negotiate terms for project acquisitions and co-development agreements.
*Develop and implement business campaigns to promote the profile and visibility of the business amongst potential partners.
*Manage business relationships with land owners, permitting authorities, DNO's, suppliers, regulators, offtakers and other relevant parties.
*Working collaboratively with internal Departments and functions, M&A in particular.
The successful candidate will have the following skills & experience:
*Minimum 5 years' experience in utility-scale PV and BESS project development.
*Have a strong demonstrable personal network.
*Experience of working remotely/from home.
*Degree qualified, ideally in a relevant field.
*In depth knowledge of the UK PV and BESS development landscape and market participants.
*Solid understanding of fundamental PV and BESS investment cases and input variables.
*Ability to carry out basic investment appraisals to understand financial attractiveness of opportunities and negotiation parameters.
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to form collaborative relationships with partners and suppliers.
*High level of proficiency with MS Office with a proven ability to produce high-quality material.
