A global technology company who provides products and services to educational institutions, exam bodies and international governments is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join the team on a permanent basis due to growth.
They offer a range of assessment services to their customers from a full outsourced managed service through to a licence and support service model.
Their vision is to grow from their current strong position as the leading provider of high stakes e-marking solutions into an organisation that is a major force in the eAssessment arena.
They are looking for someone who has the appetite, focus and determination to help them to maximise the sales opportunities within their assessment business and to significantly grow their acquisition of new customers.
The role will be new business focused, and you will be directly responsible for pipeline growth and selling into new client organisations. You will be field based/remote with occasional travel for occasional office meetings in Oxfordshire.
Key challenges and opportunities for this role will be:
To lead the implementation of the qualification market segments sales strategy
To develop a new business pipeline to deliver Order Intake and Revenue in line with expectations
To directly inform new proposition and product developments that will support our growth ambitions
To develop an effective sales and marketing model that includes direct selling, working with partners and where appropriate licence only sales
To understand the unique characteristics of targeted qualifications markets and to find ways of winning new customers
Responsibilities
Sales planning:
Contribute to the definition of the qualifications segment strategy. Work closely with the Sales Lead and other colleagues to ensure product, project and operations alignment with the strategy to ensure success.
Personal Commitment : Taking direct responsibility for the development of a credible pipeline of opportunities in the targeted segments. Working individually and with colleagues to develop new relationships with potential customers and partners
to find and convert growth opportunities.
Financial : Delivery of revenue and profit targets for the short, medium and long term. Achievement of order intake and margin objectives.
Experience
Experience of successfully developing and implementing a segment focused sales strategy with an estimated contract value of £1.5m per annum
Successful track record of hunting for new business and building significant sales pipeline
Experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets on an annual basis
Strong ability to develop and manage business relationships at all levels, including senior customer relationships, and to effectively influence senior internal stakeholders
Experience of bidding for private sector contracts
Experience of working in the technology sector, ideally within EdTech
