ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Manager role is a pivotal in our dynamic team of commercial experts, where you'll be the driving force behind our ambitious growth targets. You will be on the front-line, engaging with prospective clients across various channels to showcase how our services can propel their businesses to new heights. Your aim is to both demystify complex VAT concepts and champion our world-class services.
The Role
No two days are ever the same, from targeting and nurturing leads to providing excellent customer support. You’ll be working with ecommerce businesses from across the world helping them trade cross border.
In the role you’ll be:
- Target Driven: Be part of the team responsible for growing the client base, and meeting set monthly targets
- Customer Centric: Provide support, problem solve and give excellent customer service to every person interacting with the business
- Confident: Speak about technical subjects in a simple way to make VAT more accessible to everyone!
- Proactive: Able to find and create your own opportunities and turn them into leads and customers
- Educate: Communicate with prospective clients, educating and discussing VAT compliance
- Data Driven: Maintain and update our Client Relationship Management system (CRM) to enable extracts of data to help make future decisions
- Network: Attend events, in the UK and abroad (optional), representing SimplyVAT to speak with potential customers
- Collaborate: Work closely and co-operatively with our Onboarding and Client Management teams to ensure a seamless service from start to finish
Skills for Success:
- Proven experience in a Sales, Telesales or Business Development role
- Solid customer service focus and problem-solving attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Calmness under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including an excellent phone manner
- Strong team working ethic and ability to work collaboratively
- Proven ability to readily follow defined systems, procedures and protocols
- Genuine enthusiasm for e-commerce, finance and international trade
- Experience of working effectively in a home office and/or office environment
