Reporting to the Business Risk Director, the Business RiskManager will be responsible for partnering with operational, functional and change teams to support the identification, documentation, management and reporting of non-financial risks and controls. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across HINV with stakeholders at various levels from multiple functions, also interfacing with teams across the wider HSBC group, to drive/enhance the overall control agenda.

They must possess a high level of energy and initiative and be capable of functioning as a collaborative partner and value-added business contributor. They must share the core values of HINV and be focused on achieving the best outcome for the organization versus individual achievement.

The Business RiskManager will be responsible for:

·       Supporting all aspects of the Non-Financial Risk Management Framework for the operational, functional and change teams to which they are aligned.

·       Lead work with the 1st Line of Defence (LoD) teams to deliver Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) for aligned teams.

·       Drive remediation actions in response to risk events, issues, and RCA control deficiencies.

·       Act as trusted advisor for the 1^st LoD for their aligned teams on how to manage their non-financial risk and all items related.

·       Undertaking control environment reviews to identify thematic issues and supporting the development of associated remediation plans.

·       Liaising with the operational, functional and change teams to which they are aligned to ensure their data is accurate and up to date for risk reporting.

·       Providing risk management training as appropriate.

·       Ensuring a strong partnership with the 2^nd LoD is in place. Driving clear accountability for risk management.

·       Supporting the production of first line risk and controls MI. Helping the 1^st LoD to interpret and act based on that MI.

·       Working with the wider Controls function to develop and enhance risk and control KRIs, KPIs and MI.

·       Use analytical skills understand the themes within the control environment to drive insight and recommendations for control improvement.

Coordination and liaising with HSBC teams, being their HINV point of contact for controls for areas within their remit

The Expertise You Have

·       Significant experience in risk management and reporting with the ability to operate across a broad array of stakeholders.

·       Prior relevant experience in a global financial organisation.

·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.

·       Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

·       Ability to present complex technical issues to stakeholders.

·       Ability to work with operational, functional and change teams to implement risk management solutions in a dynamic environment.

·       An understanding of change frameworks and how risk management can be integrated effectively into change.

·       Good time management and attention to detail are critical to this position.

·       Good analytical, research and organizational skills.

·       Strong understanding of requisite Microsoft Office applications

·       Must be self-motivated, a team player, and be comfortable facing into executives, with good relationship and influencing skills.

·       Ability to work cross-functionally and move fast, while maintaining close attention to detail
