Job Introduction

The Brighton & Hove Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Service is a team of specialist mental social workers who work across the City 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, supporting our residents who are in Mental Health crisis, and discharging the Council's duties under the Mental Health Act 1983.

As a Business Support Officer within service you will provide pro-active and varied administrative support in a busy office environment. The role will include coordinating twice daily handover meetings and providing a courteous and responsive front of house service to service users, and referrers. You will need to be highly organised and have an ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to enjoy solving problems and managing an evolving workload, so computer literacy, knowledge of software programs (particularly MS Excel) and good time-management skills are essential.
The post is based at Mill View Hospital in Hove, and will have some opportunities for home working.

You will have experience of working in a busy office environment with the ability to prioritise your workload around the demands of the service while still managing to meet strict deadlines. This role involves the use of various computer packages and requires you to be able to monitor and analyse data for your team as well as running reports to monitor performance and outcomes.

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in Business Support duties including arranging meetings, and taking minutes which may be of a complex nature .
  • Competent in working with Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Office packages .
  • Inputting and retrieval of data on service based IT system

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
