The Recruitment Co is urgently recruiting for an experienced Business Unit Manager (manufacturing) to join our clients well established growing team based in Llanelli.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience
Shifts: DAYS Mon-Thurs: 8am-4.30pm & Fridays 8am-1pm
Responsible for:
Leadership, management and overall result of the Business Unit through effective management of tactical and strategic improvement plans via the direct and functional members of the Business Unit team.
Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:
- Manage Financial dimensions (Budget, Stock, Overtime, Manning)
- Manage performance improvement through effective planning and KPI attainment
- Consistent achievement of Quality Standards IATF16949/QMS
- Measurement of effective Quality management (Quantity , Closure speed , Repeats)
- Scrap and rework levels to be understood with plans to reduce inline with the Business Objectives
- Build and promote teamwork, to maximise OEE, Quality, Safety, Delivery and focused on succession planning
- Lead and drive daily and weekly Business Unit meetings to make sure the next 24 hours, minimum, are successful and problems are attacked
- To ensure all daily, weekly, monthly activity is conducted and deliver to the required standard,and cadence, or better
- To lead by example in the understanding and administration of Company Policies and Procedures for People Management
- Ensure adherence to plant emergency Plan inc Fire Evac and Accident/Incident Management
- Adherence to layered audits and minimum job requirements are tracked and controlled to ensure our SQD scorecard is protected
- To develop employees by identifying training needs and formulating Personal Development and robust succession plans
- Responsible person for production readiness at (NPI) New Process Introduction stages
- To work with our Customers on-site or off-site to address Quality, Cost/Delivery concerns. To be the face of the Business Unit to the Customer.
- To use analytical skills to identify further opportunities to improve in H&S (including performance in the GHSI) and implement plans to achieve
Skills, Experience and Qualifications necessary:
- Institute of Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent
- Prior experience in Managing / directing a multi disciplined team
- Able to create Strategy deployment plans (Future) and can also work (Now) critical issues as they arise
- A great coach/communicator that can solve Business Unit level issues systematically and objectively with the team
- Planning and organisational skills
- Relentless approach to problem solving
- Interpersonal - Leadership and management skills
- Knowledge and experience within the Body In White industry would be advantageous but not essential
- Proven track record in driving improvement through effective direction, development and encouragement of the team
