Logistics assistant (runner)
Shifts: Full time between Monday-Sunday. Working pattern as agreed with estate manager
Location: Castle Howard, Callis Wood, York, YO60 7DQ
Pay: Up to £11.44 per hour
About The Bushcraft Company:
We provide real outdoor residential adventures for children aged 7-18 years old from May to October. Arriving at one of our safari-style tented camps based in the grounds of Castle Howard, students become fully immersed in the wilderness; sleeping under the stars, and cooking over open fires. Whether they are learning first-aid techniques, building shelters or tackling an SOS scenario, and experiencing and developing their own personal growth. our outdoor adventures are as real as you can get.
The role:
Based at our beautiful site in the grounds of Castle Howard, you are responsible for the day to day running and maintenance of the estate alongside the estates maintenance coordinator.
Typical duties:
- Light vehicle maintenance
- Carrying out routine checks and maintaining equipment onsite
- Participating in the on-call night duty, based on a rota agreed by the estate manager
- Driving our off-road vehicles around the estate to assist with the moving and handling of equipment and luggage. Therefore, a full UK driving license is a must
- Working alongside your colleagues to make sure any health and safety issues, relating to maintenance, are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner
What we are offering:
- Up to £11.44 per hour

- Access to staff camping area, with facilities provided (i.e washing machines, fridges)
- Full in-house training, including, first aid, food hygiene, archery
Selection & Appointment Process: Candidates will be required to complete The Bushcraft Company pre-camp training programme. All appointments are subject to satisfactory training attendance, references and enhanced DBS Status.
