We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join our busy Team.
You will have Ownership of a range of sub-categories including Acquisition, Design, Engineering and Construction, along with the associated company spend and relevant supplier base. The Category Procurement Manager will develop appropriate commercial strategies and approaches to optimise value-for-money and minimise supplier-related risk.
The Category Manager will own, develop & deliver sourcing events (both traditional & e-sourcing) which fully align with our Corporate Procurement Policy. Financial contribution will be linked to an industry standard methodology and aligned with our commercial structure. Working in conjunction with a range of internal stakeholders, the Procurement Category Manager will drive commercial benefit, service delivery improvement and process efficiency.
Key Responsibilities for the Category Manager also include:
- Develop and deliver sub-category strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Plan and execute negotiations for tenders, ensuring best value-for-money.
- Lead sourcing activities and manage complex projects, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring capability and capacity align with business needs.
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships for effective Procurement governance.
- Adhere to Savings Methodology, ensuring financial goals are achieved within budget.
- Negotiate commercial agreements with suppliers, considering service, quality, and total cost of ownership.
- Manage end-to-end Procurement processes, including contract execution.
- Report and track initiatives, renewals, and financial benefits, highlighting risks and issues.
The successful Category Manager will have:
- Procurement and supplier management experience in an estates management, professional service or asset management background.
- Proven experience in change management, category sourcing strategies, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Strong category management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience in RFP/Sourcing Event management.
- CIPS membership preferred.
- Good deployment of strategy and process creation.
- Strategic and collaborative thinker.
