About the Role:
The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking a Category Managerto join a UK Leading Nuclear Defence Business
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing a Procurement exercise in a Public Sector environment
- Construction experience in a live public sector background
- Experience procuring construction projects, including building, installation, new process re-kits, utilities, factory settings, and substations.
- Developing tendering strategies, with NEC4 experience is essential.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Willingness to commit to required on-site attendance.
- Procurement management background
- Public sector procurement experience/knowledge
- Construction experience
- Pulling tender/contract documents together - contracts (NEC conditions)
- Experience working with legal teams.
- Experience in evaluating tenders, launching them, and handing contracts over to contract management.
- Stakeholder engagement experience/skills
- Background in nuclear or highly regulated environments
- Knowledge of the defence sector
The candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of Public sector procurement regulations and experience applying them to contracts and procurement.
- Experience in procuring across various categories.
- Experience in managing contracts.
- Knowledge and use of Crown Commercial Service procurement frameworks
- Procurement experience in software and hardware
- Ability to liaise with a broad range of government stakeholders and suppliers.
- Experience in delivering high-value procurements.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and facilitate decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical individuals
