Position Summary

Ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met. Inspect grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies. Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc. Inspect storage areas for organisation, use of FIFO, and cleanliness. Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Supply guests with directions and property information. Accommodate guest requests, contacting appropriate staff if necessary. Follow up to ensure requests have been met. Notify Loss Prevention/Security of any guest reports of theft.

Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; and identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organisational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Managers.

You’ll need to know your stuff:

  • Product (food & beverage), hotel navigation, storage areas, food hygiene, service knowledge is essential
  • Our guests must receive a consistent level of service regardless of whether it’s their first, second and fifth Event – if you do not keep up to date with changes within the department and department standards, you will not be able to successfully execute this.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety and Hygiene (sanitation, cleanliness)
  • Attendance at Monthly departmental meetings and 1:1’s is essential for you to have the knowledge you need in your role.
  • Knowledge of five-star delivery services.
  • Kronos and Oracle entry to assist payroll.
  • Ordering of items required for the Chambers Club.

You’ll be expected to deliver on the following:

  • Deliver an exceptionally high standard of five-star luxury lifestyle service for every guest interaction.
  • Attitude, grooming standard, body language and tone need to be positive, supportive and on brand at all times.
  • You are expected to deliver service to your full potential when you are here.
  • You are also expected to carry out other duties that may be required to ensure the overall hotel operation is properly maintained to provide a total Guest Experience.
