We are looking for an enthusiastic person to support schools to expand their out of school provision, giving advice and support about the quality provision and supporting them to establish a sustainable model of operation. Supporting the early years team to administer the wraparound childcare grant will also be part of your role.
You will also take a lead role in supporting childminder recruitment and retention, undertaking training and support visits to new and existing childminders to ensure that good quality provision is provided to children and families across Wakefield district.
You will have a degree or equivalent in childcare and extensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and safeguarding and welfare requirements.
Knowledge of the childcare market across the Wakefield district would be an advantage but not essential.
Good organisational skills are essential along with ICT and presentation skills to deliver training sessions as necessary. You will have a high level of personal skills with an ability to motivate and encourage the childcare workforce. You will need to collaborate and communicate with a variety of people both internal and external to the Council to undertake your duties.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a DBS Application Form and be able to drive to undertake the duties of the post.
The post is temporary for 18 months in the first instance but may be expanded in the future.
