An exciting opportunity to work within the Council’s Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Team (Safer Merton) which brings together statutory bodies and local organisations with the shared goal of preparation, implementation and co-ordination of Emergency Civil Protection Procedure
This is a new role which has been created to lead on Merton’s work to review and develop Emergency Planning and Business Continuity. A strong background and experience in both areas is required, so to is a willingness to attend the Civic Centre, in Morden, to support the borough in responding to any major/critical incidents from the outset.
A key function will be briefing senior managers across the Council on progress and establishing a culture where ‘resilience is seen as everybody’s business’.
You will be working with a wide and diverse range of partners, including those from across the Council, Police, the Voluntary Sector, and residents themselves, to support the borough’s approach to ensuring Merton is prepared and is fulfilling its statutory responsibilities.
