Benefits

Bridgelea is an Ofsted-rated “Good” Pupil Referral Unit (December 2023) providing specialist educational provision for primary aged children with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. Working in a Pupil Referral Unit isn’t an easy ride, some of the behaviour can be extremely challenging at times, and it can take a huge amount of commitment and patience to work with the children who attend our setting. However, all teaching roles have their fair share of challenges and the rewards for the challenges we encounter are like no other. Here at Bridgelea we simply represent another point on the education spectrum, and we are passionate in ensuring our children access, and are supported in being successful in, the broad educational diet they deserve and are entitled to. We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, qualified and highly motivated teacher to join our friendly team. Bridgelea nurtures an environment which many teachers find stimulating, because they work much more closely with individual pupils and see far more progress in areas which will be life-changing than might be seen in many mainstream environments. Teaching at Bridgelea actively encourages you to ‘think outside the box’ and provides a rare platform for creativity and innovative practice to be explored. In short, our setting may test resilience and tenacity, but is also an extremely rewarding & special place to work. We are currently located over two sites in Withington and Longsight offering places for up to 120 children; successful candidates may be required to work at various locations across Manchester. If you feel you can contribute energy and ideas to the development of this growing community we warmly encourage you to apply. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our child protection policy, which can be viewed in the policies section of our website       To apply for this role, please complete the application form and email it to: [email protected]   If you are viewing this job on our Greater Jobs site then please click on the apply now button to view the full advertisement details and relevant attachments.     We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. This post is also subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and other pre-employment checks where applicable. We strive to create a fair and inclusive workplace that is as diverse as the communities we serve. We positively welcome applications from all candidates regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy, and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
