Are you an experienced SEND practitioner OR a teacher with experience of teaching the National Curriculum at primary level, wishing to take your career into a new, exciting direction?
St John’s Catholic Specialist School is a school for young people up to 19 years with special educational needs. Our mission is to support our students to gain the knowledge and skills they will need to thrive in adult life. Every day is different, and staff work with pupils with a range of different needs, which include sensory impairments, communication and learning challenges or autism. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing the very best life chances for our students.
We are looking for two teachers to join an experienced and enthusiastic team of staff supporting a small group of KS3 pupils with complex educational needs.
This role includes:
- Planning, teaching, and assessing learning in an imaginative curriculum.
- Working with a support team of knowledgeable and committed colleagues.
- Enhancing pupils’ communication skills.
- Promoting pupils’ self-esteem, independence, and participation within the school and local community.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who is compassionate but purposeful, focusing on maximising pupils’ progress; someone who works well in a team and is open to developing new skills. We are looking for people who want to make a positive difference every day and are committed to helping all our young people feel respected and valued.
In return, we can offer:
- A very supportive environment with a strong commitment to professional development.
- An induction programme tailored to your experience and needs.
- A school which actively promotes the well-being of staff.
- A school culture that encourages everyone to achieve their best.
Candidates are warmly welcomed to visit the school and experience how rewarding your work could be.
