Job Title: Client Accountant
Salary: £30k - £40k DOE
Location: Islington, London
We are proudly representing a firm of chartered surveyors with a great reputation within property & Block Management too. They are looking for an experienced Client Accountant, with a good knowledge of Qube, to join their finance team. Based in their London office, the role will encompass:
- Generate financial reports for clients and senior management (monthly, quarterly, year-end).
- Analyse expenditure vs. budget, arrears, and cash flow, summarising the findings in reports.
- Prepare and finalise service charge accounts for year-end audit.
- Assist with the preparation of draft budgets for clients.
- Attend client meetings (monthly/quarterly)
- Liaise with managers, accountants, and support staff to deliver accurate and efficient service.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and ensure excellent client service.
- Provide periodic reports to clients (standard and ad-hoc).
- Handle client queries and escalate urgent matters.
- Manage and maintain service charge funds for each property.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of client reports (VAT, statements).
- Post additional charges accurately.
- Finalise service charge accounts and sign off.
- Manage electronic data and emails.
- Raise void service charges to developers.
- Send reports, statements, and demands to clients, leaseholders, and contractors.
- Enter budgets into Qube with correct apportionments.
- Run expenditure reports monthly and escalate any discrepancies.
- Calculate on account from budget and debit periodic charges correctly.
- Create year-end packs for accountants.
- Process fund movements as requested by property managers.
- Meet regularly with team members to discuss progress and improve financial processes.
Requirements:
- Experience within a client accounting position, within a Block Management firm
- Qube systems knowledge preferred
- Good Excel & MS Office skills
- Presentable, with good communication skills
- Commutable distance to Islington area
