Role Overview:
Role: Deputy Clinical Home Manager
Hours: 37 hours p/w
Salary: £50,000.
My client is a medium sized Nursing and Dementia Care Home based in South Croydon and are looking to expand their clinical management team by appointing a Clinical Deputy Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for clinical care in the home.
- Managing the home in the absence of the home manager.
- Managing the recruitment and training of the clinical team; ensuring training targets are met and the team is competent in their roles.
- Managing rotas and ensure that the correct skill mix and number of team members are in the home at all times.
- Leading, managing, supporting and inspiring the clinical team to deliver outcomes for the home.
- Taking responsibility for the supervision, appraisal and performance management of the clinical team.
- Initiating regular communication with colleagues, residents, relatives, and MDT’s.
- Ensuring that all regulatory and statutory requirements are met and company policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensuring any requirements of a clinical perspective from internal and external audits are actioned within the timescales required.
- Ensuring nurses are up to date with Prep in accordance with NMC guidance.
- Leading care delivery in the home, to ensure continuous assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents’ care.
- Ensuring that an outstanding level of relationship centered care, dementia care and clinical care is being delivered within the home.
- Ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and audited and that they are appropriate to the residents needs and reflect the care being delivered.
- Ensuring pre-admission assessments and resident reviews are undertaken.
- Ensuring medication is ordered in line with company policies and procedures.
- Ensuring medication audits are completed in line with company policies.
- Ensuring clinical aspects of induction for new starters are completed and the team is fully competent and compliant in their clinical role.
Experience Required:
- RN/RGN qualified with strong clinical experience.
- Dementia Experience/Qualification.
- Experienced in shift leadership and management in a care home - would be open to Unit managers, clinical leads looking for progression from their current role.
- Proven track record in a care home environment delivering high quality care.
