Clinical Psychologist – Older Adults Specialty Band 7/8a depending on experience – up to 1.8wte available
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Psychologist with experience and enthusiasm in working with older people, to join the friendly and supportive community teams across the Fylde Coast. We have two positions available and would consider applicants who might like to work in an individual team, or might be interested in a split role. We intend to interview for both roles together and will ask successful candidates for their preferences at time of interview.
The Trust is also committed to staff development, and have invested in on-going training and development opportunities including funding recent further therapy training and leadership courses. There are strong links with Universities and various opportunities for research involvement.

Band 7/8a – 1.8wte
Up to 1.0wte Based at Lytham Unit, Warton Street, Lytham
Up to 0.8wte based at Shorelands, Central Drive, Blackpool
We have up to 1.0wte available in the Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT). The RITT team provides a variety of approaches to support older people with complex mental health issues, with the aim of reducing the need for hospital admission where possible. A specialist care home liaison service is also provided to nursing and care homes.
We have up to 0.8wte available in the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team.The team provide specialist assessment and therapeutic interventions/treatment to clients and their families/carers who require secondary mental heath support. The role includes direct work and providing advice and consultation.
The successful applicant will be working with the multi-disciplinary team and team manager(s) to continue to develop a high quality, community-orientated service for older people. The successful post-holder will also be working alongside another Clinical Psychologist and assistant psychologist(s) based in the same team, plus additional locality based psychology colleagues.
The posts are professionally attached to the locality older adult psychology team and wider network, both of which offer a friendly and supportive space, with a strong commitment to providing quality services for older people in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Lancashire &South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
