1. To provide a qualified Clinical Psychology Service to patients of the nominated team(s) including the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service.
2. To offer advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. To develop advanced skills in consultancy by implementing formal systems of consultancy within the nominated team(s) as directed and guided by your locality Professional lead and his/her deputies.

Clinical Psychologist – Older Adults Specialty Band 7/8a
The psychology post within the CMHT involves direct and indirect psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, consultation (alongside psychology colleagues), training and supervision of psychology and non-psychology colleagues. The successful applicant will be working alongside another Clinical Psychologist, and assistant psychologist based within the team, plus multi-disciplinary colleagues and the team manager to continue to develop a high quality, community-orientated service for older people.
The post is professionally attached to a wider network of psychologists and therapists both locally and throughout the Trust who share a strong commitment to providing quality services for older people in Lancashire and South Cumbria. The Trust is also committed to staff development, and have recently invested in funding further therapy training (e.g. EMDR, MBT, DBT, specialist CBT).
Applications are welcome from current third year clinical psychology doctorate trainees and the successful post-holder would be eligible for the Trust support pathway for newly qualified staff.
